I want to talk about busaa.
Busaa kali kamalwa ke sibukusu, niko bandu banywechanga buli mubukeni.
Busaa is Bukusu traditional beer, which people drink in every feast.
Busaa eng'onwanga khukhwama khubufu bupakhe.
Busaa is made from fermented flour.
Bufu buno bumala chisuku chitaru nebakhalanga.
This flour is then fried after three days.
Nebabukula batasamo kamechi, nebakulula, nebayusya.
Then they add water, they stir (it), and they turn (it).
Esuku ye khabili, batasamo limela.
On the second day, they add in yeast.
Nebatubania, nebatubania.
Then they mix, and mix.
Esuku ye khataru, aba kayile.
On the third day, it will be ready.
Onyala wanywa busaa, noting'ile.
You can drink busaa when you have sieved it.
Namwe onyala wanywa ne kamasifwa.
Or you can drink it with dregs.
Busaa enyolekhana buli mubukeni bwe Babukusu.
Busaa is found in every Bukusu feast.
Babandu basima busa.
